A lovely small 19th Century Pine Dresser , from the Carpathian Mountains of Romainia. The Dresser is a fine example of the definition of Folk Art made by the Peasant Farmer for his own use and then added to and altered by other users over time. The Dresser is unusual that it has a hand carved hanging hook incorporated to one side, this is original to the construction of the Dresser. We think the Catch and Lock are original but with a replacement Key, also there are signs where the Hinges have been replaced, the Two carved front panels we think are also later addendems to the Dresser.
