18th C West Country Side Chair

This West Country Chair is a fine example of a late 18th C Yealmpton side Chair, recognisable from the extra wide Comb Back and extra long over hang on the seat. These Chairs were  all hand made in the Devon town of Yealmpton where they got the reputation of producing well made and destinctive Fireside Chairs. This Chair has been constructed in Ash and has Faux Bamboo hand carved Legs and has been Dry scrapped back to reveal the original Green paint typical of West Country Furniture.
