The Title "Windsor Chair" does not infer that any of that style of Chair was actually produced in Windsor or of that area, but is the generic term for the type of construction known as "Wedged". Sourced from West Yorkshire this Chair has that primitive feel of a locally made piece. The Seat is Oak and has the usual cracking often associated with period Oak,a very old Folk Art repair has been made. The Ash Sticks and steamed bent Hoop also show signs of old wear and tear. With a great colour and a really old polished patina there is a lot of History in this fine example of Northern Country Furniture produced around 1780 to 1800.
